What can you do?
Not all of us can show up to the city council, not all of us can sign Temple’s recall due to living outside of Temple, and not all of us can door-knock. But we can all be involved. Find your place in this fight to save our resources below.
Let’s work hard at work worth doing.
Leslie Knopp
Needs reviewThe old site credits this line to “Leslie Knopp”; the name is spelled Leslie Knope, and the line comes from Theodore Roosevelt, so fix the credit.
Ways to help from home
- Stop using AI intentionally. Sometimes you don’t know when you are using it on a platform; the trick is to stop the big thing and then look to improve elsewhere.
- Use social media. Share to groups, tag people, and post on TikTok, Reddit, Instagram, and LinkedIn. We have to spread the word.
- Phone or text bank. We can help get you started.
- Write a letter we can read to, or send to, the City of Temple.
- If you are out of Temple but live in Bell County, write about how it is affecting your life without the ability to be represented.
- Email our City of Temple leaders. Their addresses are on our Write your officials page.
Ways to help in the community
- Attend City Council meetings.
- Speak at City Council, informing them that you want this to stop.
- Put up signs.
- Talk to neighbors.
- Walk door to door.
- Help organize events.
- Meet with organizations that you’re involved with.
- Show up to our meetings for strategy sessions.
- Vote for people who oppose data centers.
What to say in an email
If you need help with what to write, start with these:
- We demand soil and air baseline testing immediately, and repeated every 60 days or less.
- We demand transparency and open records with all files that are related to our utilities, the environmental impact (by a third party we decide).
- We demand to have all the costs the public has put into these sites since they began.
- We demand that all construction stop until we get these answers.
Want a full letter instead? Five are ready to send on our Write your officials page.
Are you afraid to use your name?
- Let that sink in. If you believe that our local city government would take retribution after we ask for the Charter Citizens’ Right To Know, even more reason to unseat them.
- Create a new email and funnel all things through there.
- You can come to our meetings anonymously; you only have to sign up for things if you want.
- Find someone to work with you (friends, family, church, organizations). There is strength in numbers.
- Contact us for more information.

Volunteer opportunities
After you sign… or if you can’t sign, you can still help. We need protestors, block walkers, phone banks, social media help, Cotton Patch shifts, and more.
Needs reviewCotton Patch shifts were part of the spring 2026 recall signature drive, so confirm they are still needed.
Who will fill the roles?
We have several people standing up for the job. If you are interested in running for office, or in helping those who do, fill out our form and we will have the team reach out.
Needs reviewThe run-for-office form currently asks visitors to sign in to Google, so its sharing settings need fixing.
