WHAT CAN YOU DO?

Not all of us can show up to the city council, not all of us can sign Temple’s recall due to living outside of Temple, not all of us can door-knock. But we can all be involved. Find out your place in this fight to save our resources below.

10 WAYS TO HELP FROM HOME:

  • Stop using AI intentionally (sometimes you don’t know when using a platform, the trick is to stop the big thing and then look to improve elsewhere)

  • Register to Vote: https://www.votetexas.gov/register-to-vote/

  • Social Media: Share to groups, tag people, post on TikTok, Reddit, Instagram, LinkedIn - we have to spread the word.

  • Phone or Text Bank (we can help get you started)

  • Write a letter we can read to or send to the city of Temple.

  • If you are out of Temple but live in Bell County, write about how it is affecting your life without the ability to be represented.

  • Email our City of Temple Leaders:

10 WAYS TO HELP IN THE COMMUNITY:

  • Attend City Council meetings

  • Speak at City Council - informing them that you want this to stop

  • Put up signs

  • Talk to neighbors

  • Door Walk

  • Help organize events

  • Meet with organizations that you’re involved with

  • Show up to our meetings for strategy sessions.

  • Vote for people who oppose data centers

THINGS TO SAY IN AN EMAIL IF YOU NEED HELP:

  • We DEMAND soil and air baseline testing immediately, and repeated every 60 days or less. (list of chemicals to test - not an ag test)

  • We DEMAND transparency and open records with all files that are related to our utilities, the environmental impact (by a third party we decide).

  • We DEMAND to have all the costs the public has put into these sites since they began.

  • We DEMAND that all construction stop until we get these answers.

ARE YOU AFRAID TO USE YOUR NAME?:

  • Let that sink in. If you believe that our local city government would take retribution after we ask for the Charter Citizens’ Right To Know, even more reason to unseat them.

  • Create a new email and funnel all things through there.

  • You can come to our meetings anonymously; you only have to sign up for things if you want.

  • Find someone to work with you (friends, family, church, organizations) - there is strength in numbers.
