Stop Temple Data Centers

The owners of ROWAN (QuinBrook) are bragging that Temple is slated by our city government to be one of the LARGEST DATA CENTER HUBS in the United States. That is NOT what we signed up for, it is not what we want. We aren’t fighting one or two data centers; we are fighting the destruction of our town and way of life.

  • We are recalling our city government after realizing our Mayor and City Council had guaranteed to Rowan’s parent company that we would become the largest hub for data centers. The only way we can stop these is to remove our leaders from their positions.

  • Although this affects over 500,000 people, only Temple residents who are voters can sign the petition to recall. If you aren’t registered to vote, we can get you signed up onsite.

  • We need just over 17,500 signatures for the mayor and about 4500 for each council person before May 20th. As of May 1st, we are over 1/5 way there. We have over 12k people standing with us - it’s time to sign the petition! WE NEED ALL OF YOU to fix this.

  • No. The City Charter requires “wet” signatures witnessed by a resident. Signing online petitions did not have any affect so now we have to sign the petitions in person for them to count. We are at Cotton Patch Cafe in Temple Mall every weekday from 3pm - 9pm. If you can’t make it - we can send someone to you.

  • When we hand in the signatures to have them counted, we will also have a temporary restraining order so they can not force any other data centers through. We will then file the injuction that will allow us to get our environmental, baseline toxicity, and impact studies done. Once our county can see how this will affect us, we can vote on whether to proceed.

  • We have several people standing up for the job, if you are interested in running for office or helping those who do - fill out our form and we will have the team reach out. https://forms.gle/uetKZ5UoB7BBzmxo7

  • After you sign… or if you can’t sign, you can still help. We need protestors, block walkers, phone banks, social media help, cotton patch shifts, and more. https://forms.gle/UGpmmRJ6ttBWZD6B7

  • We are Temple residents and Bell County residents. We have lived here for years and care about our community and the investment we have put into this town. We are truly cross-partisan. We come from all backgrounds, parties and faiths. What binds us together is love. Love for this community and love for each other.

If you are in fear or don’t want to work with your neighbor because of differences, search your own heart - we are in this together.

    The greatest commandment is Love.

  • If we somehow don’t get enough signatures, we won’t turn in the petition. We already have thousands and they can’t punish all of us. When we win, they are out of power.

If you feel you are already being targeted in retaliation, please reach out to us as we consider legal options.

Temple Residents who are registered voters can sign the petition at Cotton Patch Cafe from 3PM-9PM every Monday - Friday. If you aren’t registered - email us and I’ll tell you when we will have someone onsite that can sign you up to vote as well. We will have voter registration at our May 18th Town Hall.
